What was on the hearts and minds of Slow & Steady clients this week
A word cloud from this week’s client sessions would look something like this 👆.
Whether it was finding the motivation to get started, even when you know what you need or want to do.
Or sticking to a plan when things start to feel hard or like you’re screaming into the void.
Motivation and consistency was on the hearts and minds of many Slow & Steady clients this past week.
Maybe you too?
Every time when we pulled at the threads of what someone really meant when they said they were struggling with motivation and consistentcy, it wasn't about finding the strategy or systems...
What was holding them back was always something else that was a little softer, a little more tender.
It was the part of you that spends ages making a perfect plan and the part of you that rebels against the plan because you just want to vibe.
The exhaustion of being booked and busy with client delivery but still having to keep up the marketing momentum.
The fear of failure and the fear of success and the fear of being seen and the fear of not being seen co-existing all at once.
Or maybe it’s not that serious and you just want to spend your afternoon in the garden, under the sunshine, after a long cold winter already!(🙋♀️ tag yourself, this one's me)
All of these things contribute to your motivation and consistency.
The thing about motivation though, is that it’s not something that magically just happens as Heini, Decelerator alum and run coach extraordinaire, reminded us on our call yesterday when she said this:
This is why I'll never stop reminding you that it's never just marketing.
Because I know that that's never easy to just get started or just stay consistent, even if ultimately it is that simple.
Being able to start doing the work and sustaining that momentum means learning how to bring all of those parts of yourself to work...
The parts that are scared or think that you can't or don't want to do it.
And knowing that once in a while, it’s okay to blow off your afternoon to spend a few hours in the garden too… which is where I’ll be for the rest of today!
✴️ Until next time, here's a prompt to reflect on:
What’s something that comes with you when you market your business – a fear, a story or belief, a part of yourself…
How can you hold that part in a different way so you can maintain motivation and momentum?
Feel free to share with me here if you feel so inclined. Sometimes saying it out loud (and by out loud, I mean by email lol) is all it takes to hold it in a different way.
